Zusammenfassung
In diesem Kapitel werden Ökosysteme betrachtet sowie die Leistungen, die sie für das Wohlbefinden der Menschen in der Stadt erbringen, sogenannte Ökosystemdienstleistungen, aber auch die biophysikalischen Prozesse, Strukturen und Funktionen, welche zur Entstehung von Ökosystemdienstleistungen und deren Erhaltung wesentlich beitragen. Dazu werden für diese einzelnen Komponenten – Klima, Wasser, Vegetation und Boden – ausgewählte Methoden zu Messung, Monitoring, Statistik, Modellierung und Bewertung dieser Strukturen und Prozesse bzw. Funktionen vorgestellt. Zudem werden grundlegende Methoden der Bewertung bzw. Inwertsetzung von Ökosystemdienstleistungen dargestellt. Mittels Informationskästen (Case Study und Exkurs) werden aktuelle Ansätze der Analyse und Untersuchung von Komponenten von Stadtökosystemen und urbanen Ökosystemdienstleistungen verdeutlicht.
