Zusammenfassung
Neben den klassischen, durch anatomische Engpässe hervorgerufenen Syndromen, die bei bestimmten Berufsgruppen bzw. Beschäftigungen verstärkt auftreten können, geht es in diesem Kapitel um spezifische externe Druck- oder Traktionsschäden einzelner Nerven. Diese resultieren häufig aus unphysiologischen Haltungen oder extremen und exzessiven Bewegungen. Am bekanntesten und am besten untersucht sind die Funktionsstörungen und Schmerzsyndrome bei Sportlern und Musikern. Sie erfordern in den meisten Fällen – mit Ausnahme des besonders bei Musikern nicht seltenen Karpaltunnelsyndroms (und Kubitaltunnelsyndroms) und des vorwiegend bei Sportlern auftretenden Suprascapularis-Syndroms – keine operative Behandlung, sondern eine Verhaltensänderung oder Eliminierung der spezifischen Exposition.
