Zusammenfassung
Anticholinergika (Parasympatholytica) binden als Antagonisten am muskarinischen Acetylcholin-Rezeptor (M1, M2, M3). Dies führt zur Modulation der Signalübertragung zwischen cholinergen Neuronen im Zentralnervensystem und schließlich zu Halluzinationen und Tiefschlaf mit lebhaften, oft erotischen Träumen. Im peripheren Nervensystem (Parasympathikus) kommt es vor allem zur Blockade der glatten Muskeln. Natürlich vorkommende Anticholinergika aus Pflanzen fallen in die Klasse der Tropan-Alkaloide, mit Hyoscyamin, Scopolamin und dem Razemat Atropin als wichtigste Vertreter. Historisch bedeutsame Rauschpflanzen mit diesen Inhaltsstoffen sind Tollkirsche, Bilsenkraut, Alraune, Stechapfel, Engelstrompete, Glockenbilsenkraut und Glockenkelchwein.
