Abstract

Hungary is located in the Carpathian Basin It is bordered by Slovakia to the north, Ukraine, and Romania to the east, Serbia, and Croatia to the south, Slovenia to the southwest and Austria to the west. It covers 90.5 thousand of square kilometers and has a population of 9.97 million. Its GDP reaches $140.03 billion in 2011. Through the index system and evaluation model, the environment competitiveness index of Hungary ranks at 65 in 133 countries.
