Estonia is a state in the Baltic region of Northern Europe, which covers 42,400 square kilometres. It is bordered to the north by the Gulf of Finland, to the west by the Baltic Sea, to the south by Latvia, and to the east by Lake Peipus and the Russian Federation. It covers 42.4 thousand of square kilometers and has a population of 1.34 million. Its GDP reaches $22.15 billion in 2011. Through the index system and evaluation model, the environment competitiveness index of Estonia ranks at 121 in 133 countries.
