Uruguay is a country in the southeastern part of South America. It borders the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, to the north, and the provinces of Corrientes and Entre Ríos, Argentina to the west, limited by the Uruguay River. To the southwest, lies the estuary of the Río de la Plata. To the southeast lies the southern part of the Atlantic Ocean.
