Zusammenfassung
Etwa 1 bis 1 1/2 Liter Speichel werden pro Tag von unseren drei, paarig angeordneten Speicheldrüsen (Glandula parotis, submandibularis und sublingualis) gebildet. Hierbei wird in den Drüsenazini ein isotoner Speichel gebildet, welcher wie in den Schweißdrüsen während seiner Passage durch die Speichelgänge hypoton wird (je langsamer der Speichelfluß erfolgt, desto hypotoner wird der Speichel — bis etwa 50 mosmol —, während bei größtem Speichelfluß nahezu plasma-isotone Werte — 300 mosmol — erreicht werden).
