High Accurate Time Synchronization Mechanism for WIA-PA Network

Time synchronization has been a heated issue of industrial wireless network, and it is also the guarantee and premise of the stable and reliable operation of the entire wireless network. WIA-PA (wireless network for industrial automation-process automation) is an IEC-approved industrial wireless standard. Having taken the features and architecture of WIA-PA into consideration, we implement and analyze two approaches of time synchronization mechanisms of WIA-PA, test and validate these mechanisms under actual hardware platform and complex environment. The experimental results show that combining these two time synchronization mechanisms, the synchronization time between nodes can be controlled within 4 \(\upmu \mathrm{s}\), which can achieve high precision and strong feasibility.
