Zusammenfassung
Intelligenz und Gedächtnis sind Bedingungsfaktoren von schulischen Leistungen. Während der Grundschulzeit nehmen Intelligenzleistungen stetig zu. Der formale Schulbesuch wirkt sich auf die Intelligenzentwicklung förderlich aus. Darüber hinaus lassen sich Intelligenzleistungen durch externe Trainingsmaßnahmen steigern. Die Gedächtnisentwicklung im Grundschulalter wird durch zunehmenden Strategiegebrauch, durch ein verbessertes Wissen über das eigene Gedächtnis (Metagedächtnis) und durch eine wachsende Wissensbasis beeinflusst. Die Vermittlung von strategischem Verhalten und von Wissen über das Gedächtnis haben sich als gewinnbringend für die Förderung von Gedächtnisleistungen erwiesen.
