The Earth’s Deformations and Variations in the Earth’s Rotation

Abstract

In Chapters 3 and 4 we dealt separately with rotational and tidal dynamics. Both these geodynamic phenomena are responsible for the Earth’s deformations and this is their common feature. The tidal deformations affect the Earth’s rotation directly, and variations of the Earth’s rotation generate additional deformations.
