Abstract

Immunological tests for faecal occult blood may show enhanced sensitivity for colorectal neoplasia. We have compared the immunological test Hemeselect (Smith-Kline, USA) with the well-established chemical test Haemoccult (Rohm Pharma) in consecutive patients with lower gastrointestinal symptoms.
