Zusammenfassung

Präventive Epidemiologie bemüht sich um die Erkennung wirksamer, doch unter Umständen lange latenter Risikofaktoren, z.B. Hypercholesterinämie. Zur regulären Erfassung sind im allgemeinen aufwendige epidemiologische Studien notwendig. Meßwerte aus dem kurativ-ärztlichen Bereich sind apriori selektiv und damit für die Gesamtbevölkerung nicht repräsentativ.
