Zusammenfassung

Die Bedeutung des rechten Ventrikels für die globale Herz-Kreislauf-Funktion wurde lange Zeit unterschätzt. In der Tat wurde von verschiedenen Autoren im Tierexperiment nachgewiesen, daß die Ausschaltung des rechten Ventrikels aus der venösen Rückstrombahn durch direkte Anastomose zwischen V. cava und Pulmonalarterie praktisch keine Auswirkungen auf die Herz-Kreislauf-Funktion hat [101. Aus diesen Versuchen und ihrer palliativen Anwendung bei komplizierten kongenitalen Herzvitien und in neuerer Zeit bei irreversibler Rechtsherzinsuffizienz wurde gefolgert, daß der rechte Ventrikel lediglich dazu diene, den venösen Rückfluß in die Lungengefäße weiterzuleiten.
