Structure-Phenomenological Rheology of Dilute Suspensions in Liquid Crystals

Abstract

The rheological constitutive equations for dilute suspensions of rigid spherical and ax-isymmetric elongated particles immersed in an anisotropic dispersive medium are obtained. The effect of anisotropy of dispersive medium on a dynamics of suspended particles and on rheological properties of suspensions in a simple shear flow is investigated.
