Abstract
1,3:2,4-dibenzylidene sorbitol (DBS) is known to be an efficient gelling agent for low molecular weight organic liquids, as well as to nucleate polyolefin crystallization. It was suggested that the DBS molecules self-organize by hydrogen bonding into a three-dimensional, nan-ofibrillar network. However, only few studies have attended to effects of DBS in amorphous, non-crystallizing polymers.
