Abstract
The problems of the reliability and durability estimation of the stochastic viscoelastic systems are widely investigated in the last decades (Potapov (1985), Potapov and Marasanov (1992), Rusin (1995) and others). The finite element method in combination with the statistical simulation allows to increase considerably the class of the problems that can be solved. The present work is devoted to the application of such methods to the reliability and durability investigation of the viscoelastic systems. For example consider the frame with random material properties subjected to the slowly changing in the course of time random force F(t) (Fig. 1) so the quasi-static treatment of the problem is available. The frame consists of the polymeric composite bars with the ring cross sections. The material properties of the bars are assumed to be statistically independent, linearly elastic in axial direction and linearly viscoelastic by interlayer
