Rheological Study of the Lamellar, Sponge and Micellar Phases of the C12E4/CPyCl/Benzyl Alcohol/Water System

Abstract

The ternary C12E4/benzyl alcohol/water system shows an extensive region of lamellar phase with different subregions of vesicles and extended bilayers structures “Montalvo et al. (1998)”. In this system was found a good correlation between the proposed structures and the rheological data. A critical shear rate that induced the transition from extended bilayers to vesicles was also found.
