Measures of Efficiency for Triangulations

Abstract

Computational experience with the fixed-point algorithms of Chapters IV and VII-IX has shown a considerable sensitivity to the triangulation used. Our aim in this chapter is to define some theoretical measures that we hope will predict the relative efficiencies of different triangulations.
