Abstract

In the present work I study the problem of the evolution of the atmosphere, and of the organic circulation. This problem has been posed a number of times by chemists and mineralogists. From the side of chemistry the road has been well paved by such people as J. Fournet, J. Boussingault, J. B. Dumas, A. Delesse, A. Gauthier, S. Arrhenius and W. Vernadsky. Here I consider the problem as a mathematician. It is possible in fact to derive differential equations on the basis of empirical postulates. In turn, one derives conclusions which are testable either at the present time, or in the not so distant future. This logical apparatus and the results one derives from it, are no less valid than empirical conclusions.
