Abstract
The “Geodynamic or tectonic plate map of the USSR territory” on a scale of 1:2 500 000 has been compiled at the USSR Ministry of Geology. The experience of such map compilations is almost absent both in the USSR and abroad. Up to the present time, the following works are known: (1) the World Geodynamic Map of 1:900 000 000 scale, compiled by the Institute of Oceanology of the USSR Academy of Sciences; (2) tectonic plate maps of 1:17 000 000 scale; and (3) a geodynamic map of 1:10 000 000 scale of the Circum-Pacific Region. (These are good maps; however, the continental surroundings have not been considered on them.)
