Zusammenfassung

Experimentelle Untersuchungen der letzten Jahrzehnte haben einige Vorstellungen über die physiologischen Funktionen dieses lebenswichtigen Metalls vermittelt. Sie konnten zeigen, daß die biologische Bedeutung des Elementes wohl kaum hinter der des Eisens oder Kupfers zurücksteht. Die bisher vorliegenden Ergebnisse lassen neben Einzelbeobachtungen auch klar umrissene Wirkungsbereiche des Elementes erkennen.
