Zusammenfassung

Of 125 patients with homonymous hemianopia or quadrantanopia of various causes — cerebrovascular disease in most cases — 60 patients experiences phosphenes or complex visual hallucinations in the blind field. Since the patients recognized the irreality of these experiences, the latter are properly termed pseudohallucinations. A standardized protocol was used in an attempt at gathering as much information as possible about the visual phenomena.
