Abstract
Cis-platinum (II) diamminedichloride (PDD) is one of a group of transitional metal compounds demonstrated to have antibiotic and antineoplastic effects in vitro [12, 13] and in animal tumor systems [8, 11, 14, 16]. The mechanism of action is discussed in other presentations in this symposium. It appears to involve selective inhibition of DNA synthesis [2, 4, 5, 6] with evidence for inactivation of DNA by crosslinking
