Trapped Particle Distributions and Flux Mapping

  • Chapter
Dynamics of Geomagnetically Trapped Radiation

Part of the book series: Physics and Chemistry in Space ((SPACE,volume 2))

Abstract

So far we have been concerned with individual particle motion and with its properties, in arbitrary magnetic fields and in some special models of the magnetosphere. In this chapter we shall show how to relate this theory to actual observations on trapped particles, as might be performed by a spacecraft orbiting through the radiation belts.
