Abstract

Basic knowledge of the biology of germ cells, ovulation and egg transport are essential if proper assessments of the problems of excessive population growth and infertility in man and animals are to be made. There are very large hiatuses in our knowledge of any of these phenomena. It is fair to state that we would have difficulty in describing the natural history of reproductive processes with accuracy for any animal much less the physical and chemical changes occurring at the cellular level.
