Zusammenfassung
Der Magen dient der Umwandlung der Speisen in Chymus sowie seiner schubweisen Überführung ins Duodenum. Physiologisch am wichtigsten ist die motorische Funktion [4]. Magenfundus und oberer Korpusanteil speichern die Speisen und schieben den Mageninhalt durch tonische Kontraktionen aboralwärts. Der erzeugte intragastrische Druck bzw. der gastroduodenale Druckgradient spielt für die Magenentleerung flüssiger Speisen eine wichtige Rolle. Die distalen Magenabschnitte regulieren die Entleerung fester Speisen. Die Halbwertszeit für die Verweildauer einer gemischten Mahlzeit, welche durch die peristaltischen Kontraktionen des Antrums weiter befördert wird, beträgt ca. 2,5 h. Größere Nahrungspartikel (> 2mm) werden in der interdigestiven Phase im Verlauf von großen peristaltischen Kontraktionen, welche im Abstand von 90–120 min auftreten (interdigestiver Motorkomplex) entleert.
