Abstract
A classical topic in linear algebra concerns the establishment of certain special types of matrices, called canonical forms, to which more general classes of matrices may be reduced by particular classes of transformations. In the present chapter we shall derive a number of analogous results for matrices in minimax algebra, our “canonical forms” including various kinds of ø-astic matrices. Our first results use the concept of direct similarity defined in Section 24–2.
