Abstract
Pro.M.D. is an expert system shell for laboratory test result interpretation. Pro.M.D. stands for Prolog System Supporting Medical Diagnostics and its development began in 1984 by Trendelenburg and coworkers [2]. The menu-driven system offers functions for knowledge acquisitation, inference, test selection and explanation. In 1988 Pro.M.D. was extensively revised in order to systematize the knowledge representation and to accelerate knowledge acquisitation [1].
