Abstract

The number of chemicals which are found to be mutagenic is rapidly increasing. Some of these are closely associated with human life (fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, carcinogens, drugs, stimulants, factory effluents etc.). This is one of the main reasons why considerably more work is being done in chemical than in physical mutagenesis.
