Zusammenfassung
Um das kontinuierliche und später das Linienspektrum einer Sternatmosphäre verstehen zu können, verfolgen wir den Austausch der Strahlung. Wir beschreiben ihn mit Hilfe der sog. Strömungsgleichung der Strahlung (equation of transfer). Dabei brauchen wir uns noch keine Gedanken darüber zu machen, ob der Energietransport durch die Atmosphäre nur durch Strahlung bewerkstelligt wird — dann sprechen wir von Strahlungsgleichgewicht — oder ob noch Konvektion und evtl. Wärmeleitung beteiligt sind.
