Abstract

An analysis of a decision-making process in agricultural enterprises is approached in this paper by cluster analysis which allows a classification of firms according to production behaviour. The socioeconomic type decision-making is modellized by weighted goal programming applied to the defined clusters. This methodology is applied to two neighbouring irrigation units in Southern Spain and we found that there was an important degree of hetereogeneity in production plans explained by differences in the objective weights of farmers.
