Abstract
Of all bladder pathologies, tumor involvement is the most important. Cancers of the bladder are common; they effect four men for one woman, the average age being 65 years. In the majority of cases, it is a primary urothelial (transitional cell carcinoma). The other histological types are rare, adenocarcinoma, sarcoma, lymphoma, epidermoid. The main problems posed by cancer of the bladder concern the detection, tumor characterization and staging.
