Abstract
In surface channeling swift light ions incident, at a grazing angle, on the crystal surface along a low-index direction are utilized as versatile probes for surface analysis. We review the development of this field and the application of the surface channeling technique in surface structure analysis, surface reconstruction, and location of adsorbed atoms.
