A New Generation of Hardware
Computer Graphics continues to exhibit exciting growth and future potential. In 1985, more than $6.2 billion worth of commercial hardware, software, systems, and serivces are forecasted to be sold worldwide. Expectations are that will grow to $15,000,000,000 by the end of the decade. The CAD/CAM portion of the market is forecasted to grow from about $3.7 billion in 1985 to about $13.8 billion by 1990. Overall growth rates average more than 30% per year with parts of the industry, like workstations, growing even faster.
