Abstract

The current status of fast electron experiments simulating photoabsorption and photoionization techniques with tuneable energy transfer is reviewed. Recent results for “photoabsorption” (e,e), “photoelectron spectroscopy” (e,2e) and “photoionization mass spectrometry” (e,e + ion) are presented. Suggestions are made for new highly sensitive spectrometers for the study of electron-molecule dipolar collisions. A new oscillator strength compilation is discussed.
