Abstract

In a progressive industry there are many innovational activities going on at the same time, each of them leading to a different innovation. These different innovations will then usually partly compete with each other for market acceptance, but partly they are also complementary to each other, thereby enhancing each other’s prospects. All innovations in the making at one moment of time build of course on earlier innovations and on market experience with these earlier innovations.
