Abstract

Almost all aspects of pharmacology involve dynamic processes. This is true whether one is concerned with drug absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion, or whether one focuses on pharmacologic effects. It is necessary therefore to describe and to analyze these processes or effects in terms of their rates, rate constants or time course. A qualitative description is usually quite insufficient and seldom leads to adequate characterization of the effects of the body on drugs or of the effects of drugs on the body.
