Abstract
Since the last neurosecretion meeting in 1966 (Fuxe and Hökfelt, 1967) our studies on the role of brain monoamines in neuroendocrine mechanisms have continued. It has been of special interest to further elucidate the neuroendocrine role of the tubero-infundibular dopamine (DA) neurons. This paper gives a summary of some of our recent work in this field, most of which has as yet not been published, and original findings will be described. The reader is also referred to two previous review articles (Fuxe and Hökfelt, 1969a, b) the contents of which will not be dealt with in the present paper.
