Abstract
In general surgery, the CO2 laser and the Neodym:YAG laser have been used so far. The CO2 laser has an excellent cutting property and the Nd:YAG laser a coagulating, vaporizing quality, but neither of them was completely satisfying for single use. For obvious reasons, these two systems have been combined. After unsatisfying experiments with technical problems [1], a combilaser was constructed. The Combilaser from the Lasermatic company is the first laser which combines these two systems.
