Abstract
In general, laser laparoscopy and laser hysteroscopy can be performed with the patient under local, regional, or general anesthesia. Since pathophysiological changes caused by lithotomy and Trendelenburg’s position as well as by pneumoperitoneum and pneumometra significantly alter respiratory function, general anesthesia with muscle relaxation and controlled mechanical ventilation represents the appropriate anesthetic technique for these major endoscopical procedures.
