Zusammenfassung
Bei Stoffwechselstörungen mit Erstmanifestation bei Erwachsenen handelt es sich in der Regel um spätmanifeste Late-onset-Formen. Häufig ist bei ihnen das Nervensystem in einer komplexen Weise betroffen. Diese Krankheiten bei Erwachsenen unterscheiden sich von denen bei Kindern bezüglich ihrer neurologischen Symptomatik in zweierlei Hinsicht: Die Symptomatik entwickelt sich meistens langsamer und in einer abgeschwächten Form. Da das Gehirn bei Krankheitsmanifestation bereits »ausgereift« ist, ist die klinische Symptomatik auch homogener als bei Kindern, bei denen der jeweilige Reifegrad des ZNS die Klinik mitbestimm. Zu der Fülle angeborener Stoffwechselkrankheiten mit ZNS-Manifestation bei Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen wurden in den letzten Jahren detaillierte Übersichten publiziert.
