Algorithm for Surface Creation from a Cloud of Points

  • Conference paper

Part of the book series: Communications in Computer and Information Science ((CCIS,volume 395))

Abstract

The paper presents a designed algorithm which makes possible to create surfaces of scanned objects based on point clouds and thus to provide basis for the following graphical operations. For such created surfaces we may further apply graphical algorithms enabling usage of photographs leading to creation of objects with their own texture. The algorithm is designed as a universal procedure in such a way that point clouds may be loaded from the external file. This feature brings possibility to apply it to processing of point clouds coming from other sources, too.
