Abstract

One of the biggest obstacles to reuse of third-party sensor data is a lack of knowledge about data properties (e. g., provenance and quality) leading to a lack of trust in the data. Link My Data (lms) is a first step towards overcoming this problem. lms provides a platform for data curation that allows users to share knowledge about individual sensors and sensor observations. The system supports annotation and transformation of sensor data on the Web to improve data quality and (re-)usability. Transformations, for example, allow to remove gaps or change the temporal resolution for time series of sensor observations. Transformation results are stored as views on the original data and made available for other users. Within this demonstration we present the main features of lms. We show how lms makes it easy to curate other people’s data. The audience is welcome to interact with lms’s web-based user interface to share their knowledge about sensor data on the Web.
