Abstract

Vitreo-macular interface disease comprises a spectrum of disorders including macular holes, epiretinal membranes, vitreo-macular traction syndromes, and beyond. The signs and symptoms of these conditions can be quite significant and alter the daily functioning of patients. Early discovery of these conditions is frequently done at the slit lamp biomicroscope without the aid of advanced imaging such as OCT or fluorescein/ICG angiography. Specific clinical tests such as the Watzke-Allen test, laser beam aiming test, and Amsler grid can direct us towards a diagnosis when combined with thorough biomicroscopy. The clinician who aims to diagnose and treat vitreo-macular diseases effectively will have a firm grasp of their clinical manifestations which are presented in this chapter.
