Zusammenfassung

Eltern-Säuglings-Psychotherapien/-Beratungen haben eine lange psychoanalytische Tradition und fußen auf unterschiedlichen Theorien. In diesem Überblicksartikel können nur einige der inzwischen sehr vielfältigen psychoanalytischen Entwicklungstheorien behandelt werden. Die Auswahl erfolgte vor allem im Hinblick auf die Relevanz der jeweiligen Theorie für aktuelle Eltern-Säuglings-Psychotherapien. Um Doppelungen zu vermeiden, wird auf die Darstellung von Bowlbys Bindungstheorie verzichtet (vgl. ▶ Kap. 4), die leider lange von „orthodoxen“ Psychoanalytikern ignoriert wurde, da sie eine zu große Revision der klassischen Sicht bedeutet hätte. Verzichtet wird zudem aus Platzgründen auf Ich-psychologische Weiterentwicklungen z. B. von Hartmann, Loewenstein, Kris, Jacobson, Nunberg, die interpersonalen Theorien von Fairbairn, Guntrip, Sullivan, obwohl sie großen Einfluss auf nachfolgende Ansätze hatten, und auf entwicklungstheoretische Überlegungen aus der Individualpsychologie und der komplexen Psychologie.
