Study of the Character of APRS Traffic in AX.25 Network

Abstract

The paper presents the study of the traffic nature collected from APRS port in AX.25 network. Theoretical foundations of stochastic self-similar processes are presented. Four samples of collected traffic are analysed for the presence of self-similarity; the research used two common methods: R/S method and variance analysis method. The article ends with conclusions based on correlations found in the study.
