Abstract
Malaria Tropica is an infectious disease with a high morbidity and mortality. The epidemiology of malaria strongly depends on the temperature and the precipitation of the region as the infectious cycle includes a stage in the anopheles mosquito. Based on a Multi-Compartment Disease Dynamcis Model, we simulate the impact of global environmental changes in tropical regions on the spread of malaria. It can be shown that the expected increase of temperature implies a strong increase of the morbidity and mortality of malaria. On the other hand, the expected decrease of precipitation in the tropical regions will have a contrary effect. It cannot be forecasted which effect will be stronger. However, it is obvious that those countries, which do hardly contribute to the global warming, will be suffering most from its consequences—a fact calling for political responsibility.
