Abstract

The reasons why the post-operative nasolabial morphology is better after unilateral cheiloplasty than after the bilateral procedure are as follows: (1) The lack of natural anatomical landmarks in patients with bilateral cleft lip, and the surgical techniques for unilateral cleft cases cannot be applied directly to bilateral cleft cases.
