This chapter provides the introduction to this book. It describes the importance of analog filters. It also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of shrink in CMOS technologies as well as design of CMOS circuits. The challenges of circuit engineering for analog-digital systems on chip in respect to the nanometer hell of physics are addressed. This chapter summarizes the contents of this book in a coarse way.
