A wide range of control applications in engineering must deal with periodic signals which usually enter the system as input references or disturbances. At the same time many of these applications operate with periodic signals whose frequency must change by specification or undergoes variations due to the intrinsic features of the specific application or abnormal functioning. In this context, repetitive control has proven to be an efficient technique to deal with constant period signals. Nevertheless, its performance decays importantly when the frequency of the signals is not accurately known or varies with time.
